Just got back from Tesco and bought 12 Dr Oetker pizzas using coupons from 2 boxes. Paid £1.50 for 12 pizzas! and now have £120 worth of pizza coupons :)

Can you explain how you got 12 pizzas with the coupons for only £1.50.

Even if the ones that are not valid yet did actually scan, it doesn't work out for me. You would have had to pay 39p towards half of the pizzas and 70p towards the other half.

I can't work it out either. I think it's because Nic.CJ presented coupons of varying amounts. Some are £1, some Half Price (£1.40) and the one Free Pizza (£2.79) - it doesn't matter because 99.999% of the time they wouldn't let you do it! Anyone who has got a promotional pack can get 39p pizza in Tesco at the moment and 29p in Morrisons - which isn't too bad!

On my pizza ristorante account, even though I've redeemed 15 sets of coupons (yes, FIFTEEN), all the coupons for the same period (e.g. the one starting 01/05/13) have the same code, no matter from which code I printed them with. I made another account to test my theory, and found that even a different account had the same barcode and scan code, meaning they're not as individual as you think :S
oh yes they are individual, look closely at the smart bit in the bottom left. they all differ. hth

    Hi All,

I used to coupon a while ago back in the good ol days when tesco would take one of each coupon.

I'm guessing the policy is still the same as it changed to in 2011? e.g. 1 unique coupon per bought item? Or 1 coupon per bought item?

Seen the extreme couponing uk kid calculating best offers and the like and brings back memories.

Ooh, that's weird. The 'smart barcode' number is different, but the right-hand side of the 'wibble picture' barcode varies ever so slightly from one to the other. I'm going to have fun explaining THAT to a checkout operative :S

I'm now currently up to FIFTEEN free pizzas come march 2014. I'm going to savour that day :D

    Nic.CJ,

My heart sank when I read what you'd done!

Do you mind me asking what you're going to do about it?

The coupons are trackable, which means Dr Oetker/Smartcoupon know where you live. They have your name and postcode on, which means Tesco do too. They're going to have them refused for redemption by Dr Oetker. When they find out their mistake, you might find that Tesco don't honour coupons from you anymore and that SmartCoupon won't issue them to your IP address/computer.

I'd be tempted to go in and admit your mistake to customer service - they'll admire your honesty. It's the checkout person's fault as much as yours. I can't believe they let you do it - I used 3 of this months together and the lady said she had to check with a supervisor. Because, it's frozen goods you won't be able to return them - or if you did they'd be binned.

You could ask for the 10 coupons you shouldn't have used back in return for paying the excess - that way you'll be able to use them down the line. It'd probably end up a complicated affair the customer service desk!

If they let you do this, look on the bright side you've got another 12 for this month/next month and 14 of every other coupon! How big's your freezer?!

It's still a very good offer, just not quite as good as you thought.

Whatever you do, I wish you luck

In reference to your post, I sent an email off to Tesco Customer services, as I had accidently used 2 free coupons a number of weeks ago before I realised that they weren't valid yet.

They've phoned me back and told me that they appreciate my honesty but not to worry as it would cost them more than the 2 coupons were worth (£5 odd) to find them. So worth sending an email as a show of honesty, but no need to panic really.

  • Hi,

If you thinking of stocking up on plax mouth wash and using the 75p MOC from Tesco mag, please beware it is cheaper elsewhere.

Today's price in all the stores

    Store_7.28px.png£1.64 Valid until: 21/05
    Store_3.28px.png£3.29 any 2 FOR 1 Valid until: 28/05
    Store_12.28px.png£1.68
    Store_1.28px.png£3.29 any 3 FOR 2 Valid until: 03/06
    Store_4.28px.png£3.29 3 FOR 2
    Store_2.28px.png£3.00
    Store_5.28px.png £1.70*

the terrible thing is, it's one coupon per transaction, so in Tesco's you only get to use one voucher :S
