Wish I could shop at your store. My A's only allow one of each pdf coupon. If you give them more than one of each they say it must be a photocopy as it has the same barcode.

Yes they're fakes. They are copied from genuine coupons sent by the manufacturer either in response to a complaint letter or less usually as prizes in competitions. Nowadays most of the real manufacturer coupons these are copied from have either a watermark/foil/hologram and/or serial number and are printed on both sides. eBay are very lax at removing these listings from their site but that doesn't mean these are ok to use xx

I disagree. If they won't take my coupons, I don't always argue the toss, sometimes, I just can't be bothered and say, well in that case, I don't want the items, you can take them off my shopping, I am in no way a fraud, I just don't argue with them, if they won't take the coupons, I can't make them. I would just make a complaint to head office after, rather than cause a scene.

Sorry - maybe I didn't explain it correctly!

The woman said they come it with literally stacks of coupons an inch or so thick for the same item and try and use them for a trolly full of the same 1 or 2 items. She said they often have no name but are supposed to be safe coupond but all have same bar code. They have been told to take them off the customer now and she said they happilly hand them over and leave the stuff and often try again later the same day - 2 people have been arrested for fraud according to the checkout manager!

Yes, that does explain things in more detail. There is no way I would let them take my coupons off me! :D I know my coupons are fine and I don't do trolley loads and no way do I use photocopies. I do think supermarkets are getting tighter on taking these internet coupons though. They always ask me, 'are these off the computer, or are these off the internet', they can clearly see that they are, so why do they ask! :rotfl: They then get them checked and get told they are fine.

I know we always say go to the young lad or go to the young girl on the checkout, but just lately, I am finding them worse for getting things checked and checked, I think they are scared incase they get into trouble for taking something fake.

Just the other week in the big Tesco I go to the young lad refused the 4 coupons I had for lenor which were from supersavvyme, they all had different codes on, so were clearly not photocopies, but the barcode along the bottom was the same and he said that should be different on each of them. I tried to explain that is the barcode that the till scans and to look at the code along the top to show they are different, he wasn't having any of it, so I gave him all my shopping back, I was so annoyed. Anyway, went to customer services and they went away to check with the manager and I was told they were fine and they were going to have a word with the lad. I think they have been told and told to be careful so are scared what they can and can't take. Sorry for waffling on. :D

So on this day I didn't let it drop, but sometimes I just can't be bothered to argue.

    Oh I had this one

Thank you for your response. Please accept my apologies for the delay in my reply.

I called the Southampton Millbrook Store and spoke to Sally, Checkout Manager. She advised they have stopped accepting internet coupons as they have had some fraudulent coupons come through. She asked me to pass on her apologies for any inconvenience this has caused you.

Our coupon policy states that as long as the customer is buying the corresponding product, the coupons is within the date specified and is not a photocopy then we will accept it. The only coupons we do not accept are damaged coupons, photocopied coupons and competitor coupons.

Sally has been made aware of this policy and will be advising all her Checkout staff. I am confident you will not have a problem using internet coupons in the future.

I had explained the coupon I was using was printed from online they agreed it was not a photocopy

Thanks for posting this. That is my nearest Tesco. I did use a pile of coupons last Thursday without too much trouble but I did have to explain each one to the lady on the till ;)
  • In my local Tesco in Huddersfied yesterday I was told only safe coupons which are sent in the post are allowed.
I had 2 coupons which I had printed - bought the two products but wasn't allowed to use my money off coupons.
Every time I shop in Tesco lately their policy has changed!
  • Good Morning to all u wonderful people,

Who are probably still fast asleep after chatting all night lol. I only started couponing in Sept and had problems in Mr T's and not been in that one since. I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of their coupon policy doc as I would like a copy so I can start going there again and have more of a fight behind me if it does not go right again :)

    Many Thanks in Advance Michelle
