M&S Money

Hi all, I am seeking a bit of advice if possible please about PPIs for M&S Money. My wife has a loan with M&S which has PPI added to it - she says she was not given the option not to have it when the loan was taken out back in 2004 - a possible mis-sell reason maybe. That being the case, it must be worth pursuing so I think she will be completeing the relevant questionnaire.

My query relates too the documents needed - does she need to have a copy of the original loan documents (which may well have been shredded when we moved house) - if so, I am assuming she can ask M&S for a copy or can she just submit her questionnaire and quote the Account number - I guess I am asking whether an investigation into a claim can be progressed without the copies sent with the questionnaire.

Secondly, does anyone know if there is a dedicated address to send PPI claims to at M&S Money - or does it just go to the Head Office at Kings Meadow, Chester ?

Many thanks for taking the time to read this - we look forward to reading any replies. Regards, Obi.

    Hi there

I found some details below, hope these are the correct ones and there are various ways of contact, so check the appropriate one for your reclaim.

    http://money.marksandspencer.com/contact-us/overview/

Just as long as there is an account number that should be fine.
    How old is the account?

They should hold data going back to at least the last 6 years, sometimes longer.
So basically you can try writing to them for the copy of the agreement by enclosing £1 cheque or postal order, ask them to provide this by 12 days.
If the account is no longer active, they may not hold this but will still hold most of the data to the account if requested by Subject Access Request (SAR) they have 40 calendar days to comply with this one, but there is a charge of £10 cheque or postal order.
The SAR avenue is optional of course, you can still try to make a reclaim with just using the account number.

SAR template letter below if required. Good luck.;)

does she need to have a copy of the original loan documents

    no.
I guess I am asking whether an investigation into a claim can be progressed without the copies sent with the questionnaire.

Needing the agreement is an internet myth. It makes no difference in any complaint.

All they need to know is why she thinks it was mis-sold and have the ability to identify her account (so account number, name and address does that).
