01612508116 calling from india offerring ppi rebate

the number 01612508116 keeps calling me calling themselves ppi repay. I have no ppi to reclaim and actually work in the finance industry dealing with the financial ombudsman service. I asked them for their Ministry of Justice number which they gave as CRM5672 this is Claims Advisory Groups number. The PPI repay is not a registered trading name of theres and this is simply CAG using an indian call centre to drum up business. I asked for my number to be removed and it wasnt they wont say how i got my number and CAG deny all knowledge. If this happens to you got to the FOS and log a complaint against the Claims Advisory Group.

I know whats it like. I'm an IFA and I get the cold calls too. One scam claims company told me that I could still put in a claim against myself (and I dont have PPI).

You need to complain to the MOJ (and possibly the Information Commissioner) as FOS has no jurisdiction over them.

yes i realised this afternoon that you're right the MOJ are the only people who should have jurisdiction over Claims Advisory Group.

I'm getting a large number of cold calls too and I don't have, nor have ever had, any products with PPI. I'm on TPS so can only imagine they are overseas calls; however, I was working from home last week and received several automated messages saying that since the PPI review all banks must 'automatically' repay all PPi premiums. I know this is far from true however these messages have come through on a number witheld so no way of knowing who it is or reporting it. I was almost temped to press the number to get through to an agent but was concerned this would generate more calls etc

Hi, I've just had a call from this number and I'm not sure if I should do anything? I see here you're talking about reporting them to different places? If I ignore it will they just keep phoning?

They are simply phone pests, like those idiots who phone about mystery prizes. I find the most effective way is to tell them I've already claimed so there's no profit for them.

I had a call from this number (01612508116) today on my mobile saying they were from a magazine and were wanting to offer me a free conservatory in return for pictures of my house being shown in their magazine. I am also on TPS so these calls are more than annoying.
