SSDs are a little picky, they need to be in the first sata port and I believe you need to enable ACHI in the bios. There's love in this world for everyone. Every rascal and son of a gun.
It's for the many and not the few. Be sure it's out there looking for you.
In every town, in every state. In every house and every gate.
Wth every precious smile you make. And every act of kindness.

After reading up on SS disk drives I thought a hybrid disk drive might be more cost effectivie but I can't seem to find a 3.5 inch one for a desktop.
Are they only produced in 2.5 inch sizes for laptops?
ssd drives are much faster, use less electricity and not prone to vibration issues. On the negative side they cost much more per Gb, and you do not get large Gbit drives, some claim that the firmware is still a bit unstable.
you get spacers, or trays (conversion kits 2.5 to 3.5) to put a 2.5 into a 3.5 slot.
Another thing that may be of use is a 'removable drive bay' - for desktops. Buy two, so your data is definitely separated from his.0
