Hi
Can anyone give me some advice on these?
Have found myself in debt due to my husband's gambling habit (only just found out he owes £120k) I have sorted out my side of the debt but want to know how to get the above notice?
We need to keep a joint bank account for the payment of some bills and he would not get a new one due to credit rating!
Help!!!

if you have a joint account you are in fact linked together and so you can't be marked as disassociated0
-
Does this mean that his bad cedit rating will always be linked to me?(sorry if this is a dumb question!)traceyaec:p0

Correct, unless you divorce(not a suggestion).Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.0
-
Even if divorced I think it's associated until all linked debt (that was in joint names etc) is repaid then you can apply for the correction
Surely the household bills could come out of your account and he could apply for a basic account, where they don't do credit checks. One day I might be more organised...........

Tracey how much of the debt is gambling related?0

What is important Tracey is your husband seeks help.I went ``cold turkey`` after wasting 20 years gambling.Sadly,it is a progressive desease and most people need help to stop.

This link will take you to a sight which has a chatroom populated by recovering gamblers. It is very non judgmental and full of support.

you dont need to get divorced but you can't have any joint a/cs ..like joint bank a/c , joint mortgages. but you may have to explain why you are no longer associated if you are cohabiting. but as lil_me says he can get a basic a/c.0

The amount he owes is huge, but it looks like I am only on the joint bank account( which I thought we had closed a year ago!!) amount £8k and a loan ( again one I thought we had paid off when we moved house 18mnth ago) that has 8mnths to run at £165 per month approx , cant get sense from him about the amount.traceyaec:p0

He is getting help -or was he has been going for 1-1 counselling but has not been for awhile. He wont talk to me....so I dont really know what to do....traceyaec:p0
