The plasterer renovating our house has told me to get 100 Plasterboards @ 8' x 4', 50 Bags of Finish, a pack of edging beads, 4 Scrim, 1 tub of Polybond. He told me there are some good deals available, but didn't say where from. Of course I will need these delivered. I have 4 weeks to get them. Where is the best/cheapest place please?

Local builders merchant?
Absolutely right!
Ask each of your local builders merchants for a quote, then go to the second cheapest and tell them what the cheapest quoted, if they beat it go back to the cheapest etc etc.
DO NOT just go in and order it as you will be paying over the odds, unless you have an account and pre-arranged discount terms.
Try the nationals (Travis Perkins, Jewsons, Build Center etc) as well as local/regional companies - their prices can vary a lot depending who wants your business on that day!
They should all deliver free as well.

You will probably get the plasterboard cheapest in the likes of B & Q and wickes because they are loss leaders for them.0

I have a couple of sub contracted plasters working for me from time to time and they always buy plaster and plasterboard from b & q. B & q get it direct from the manufacturers because they but so much and do much keener prices as a result. Local builders merchants buy from distributers / wholesalers who are just middlemen and have added their mark up.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0

This is the best advice given on this thread in my opinion. Phone them all, independent local and the chains and play them off against each other. They usually deliver for free too.0 -
Also make sure you are comparing like for like e.g. 9.5mm or 12.5mm
Current Selco offer 12.5mm £3.99 + VAT0 -
50 bags is a lot and so is 100 plasterboards. So as you will get free delivery anyway i would stagger the deliveries so that way you won't over order and be easier to keep on site. Also multi finish has a use by date so unless your having a big team in to bang it all out quickly ask the plasterer if he wants smaller deliveries.
Remember when they are delivered they will be dropped off on a pallet, so depending on the site/weather you may well have to move these by hand.0
