PPI Help Please!

Hi there,
I am very confused by all this PPI info that is around at the moment. My other half took out a loan with Lloyds approx 6 years ago and was told that he had to have PPI on his loan otheriwse he basically couldn't have it. He didn't want it, but obviously had to go with it. He did end up being made redundant after this, so therefore had to claim against the PPI. Could anyone tell me if he would be eligible to claim back the PPI from Lloyds, or would he not be able to due to the fact he claimed against it?
Any info much appreciated!
Jo

That COULD be grounds to have a complaint upheld, although it would be his word against the bank's and there was probably a "statement of demands and needs" provided at the time which the bank can use in its defence.
that would show there was a genuine need. It does not rule out a complaint being upheld but any redress would take account of the claim. He did end up being made redundant after this, so therefore had to claim against the PPI.
The only grounds I think a complaint would be likely to be upheld on in these circumstances is if the policy was bought with a single premium which was added to the loan.0 -
Thank you magpiecottage, i think i understand what you mean. I have no idea about any of these type of things, but i thought it would be best to try and find out something. I think because he actually ended up making a claim against it that it may not be possible, as like you say, it shows there was a need for it, so i guess we will leave it, but thank you for your help.0
