I am tolerant of appropriate advertising, sites provide services they want to make money from, fair enough. But when it becomes imposing, I have to either use adblock/noscript to tame them, or use a different site, neither is what the original service provider wanted. Moral of the story - too much advertising clutter makes people dislike your brand.
  • I haven't seen this advert yet in the accounts i checked, but i mainly use pop.

Is it possible to clear it by opening Task Manager (Ctrl-Alt-Del or similar) then closing it on the Applications Tab?

No, it will be running inside the browser process.
  • Ahh.. but running in a separate tab, possibly? :)

Although that would depend on your browser and your browser settings, among other things ..
then again, i suppose if that happened, it wouldn't really cause too much of a prob to the user.

I'm looking forward to seeing this one, lol :)

I had to disable my adblock plus on some pages as otherwise they wouldn't load. However I do have flashblock as well - a winning combo.

Me too :). Did you know that clicking on the AdBlock Plus logo in the toolbar using the middle mouse (wheel) key will toggle ABP on and off.

Haven't found a quick way to turn flashblock on and off.

Is there an easy way to turn Flashblock on and off?You can use the Flashblock toolbar button.Clicking this button will toggle Flashblock on and off.
To use this button in Firefox Open the Customize Toolbar window (View -> Toolbars -> Customize...) and drag the Flashblock toolbar button on to a toolbar or menubar.
