can any body tell me where to get microsoft office / word i just need it to down load my cv for job applications

    You can buy MS Office/Word from your local computer shop.

    If you want a free alternative look at Openoffice or Libreoffice.
    A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.

    As per post #2 openoffice is very good, also remember that there is wordpad (included in wndows) and MS works and other cut down versions of word processors, it does not have to be MS.

    Don't bother with Open Office any more. There have been a lot of commercial happenings with this software of late. Outcome is that Open Office will not be developed any further, the people who dealt with Open Office have migrated to LibreOffice and will continue to develop that.
    Oracle who "own" Open Office have left it on the market as little more than a "spoiler" for LibreOffice.
