Camping in France July/August

Hello there, my partner and I were thinking of camping in france with Eurocamp or Keycamp at the very end of July or early August. It has to be in the school holidays as we both work in schools. The cheapest we have found is around £560 for a week including ferry crossings staying at a campsite in Northern France. This would be in one of eurocamps tents, tho we would prefer a mobile home!

We can get a little bit off with quidco but was wondering if anyone knew of anywhere that offers simular things for slighty cheaper?

Thanks for reading,

Jenny

found nothing cheaper on the dates you want, but if you were willing to wait until 24/8 look here http://www.campingholidaysoftware.com/MH/viewPrices.jsp?id=1

This is £513 in a caravan, not a tent

Thanks for the advise and links, will check those out tonight with my partner. How do you mean DIY? Buy the tent, or book the parts of the holiday separately?

    Thanks again, I apprechiate it.

DIY is the best way. Look throught the Eurocamp brochure and see which site you fancy. Then google the name to see if the site has a website. Most of these sites will have their own mobile homes or camping pitches. If they do not display prices, then contact them to see how much they charge. Once you have the price you then need to add on a crossing. Add them both together and see how much cheaper it would be compared to the brochure.

yes, just book aferry and a campsite. Do you have tents etc? How many of you? How long are you going for? Which part of France are you thinking about?

Just the 2 of us, we only have a tent which we used at a festival once, we would like to stay in a place with and oven and a bed all there :) North France would be good as it will be the first time either of us has ever driven abroad, having passed our driving tests last year. We were thinking of a week. I dont think we can go too late in August in case my partner gets his NQT teaching job as he might be required to go on a training day.

    Thanks for reading. :o

I have just booked this type of holiday with a company called fleur holidays. I priced, siblue, Eurocamp, etc and they were by far the cheapest. I am travelling from Northern Ireland so my costs are much higher and I booked for two weeks starting 8th Aug. I got the whole hol including ferries and staying in a mobile home for less than £1300. The cheapest comparable quote was £2100 with the others.
Worth a try for you anyway, web address : http://www.fleur-holidays.com

p.s we travelled with them two years ago on a tent hol and they were really helpful

  • It's not the area of France I know most about. Which sea crossing are you thinking about?

I've not been to Brittany but I'm told it's eally nice. Many sites do have chalets and stuff that you can book direct. I'd look for that and get a ferry crossing yourself. You may save a fair bit

Can anyone direct me to a site that lists the campsites in France - for a DIY holiday please?
