You bought something, you have to pay for it. Retailer has up to 6 years to reclaim monies owed.
Do you have online banking? Can you check whether any of the transaction attempts actually did work?0 -
Why's there so many threads recently with people trying to cop out of paying for goods and services?
As above, you you purchased their services and owe them the money. But I would leave it a few days before going in, so you can check your bank statement first.
Would you walk into a shop, pickup a TV, leave the shop then say 'but I don't have to pay, you didn't stop me before I left the shop?'0 -
if you don't they'll just add it to your bill anyway, so don't think you've got away with it...0

Come boy, this is a money saving site - not a site that says don't pay your dues!!!
Pay up (once you've checked your account for o2 debit) and be proud that you did the right thing.0 -

I cancelled an upgrade to and Iphone 4 last year and decided to stay on my current tariff. On the next direct debit they took £1364 out of my bank account by mistake.
There was no calls or chasing from them to pay it back, only my persistent hounding for 10 days got me my money back.
So if I was you, I would be fully prepared to pay it back, but I wouldn't be in any hurry unless they come looking for you.0 -

no, they passed a law last night that says shoplifting is now perfectly legal.0 -

In this instance you would have been better off contacting the bank as they will be operating a direct debit guarantee scheme.Direct Debit Guarantee- The Guarantee is offered by all banks and building societies that accept instruction to pay Direct Debits
- If there are any changes to the amount, date or frequency of your Direct Debit the organisation will notify you (normally 10 working days) in advance of your account being debited or as otherwise agreed. If you request the organisation to collect a payment, confirmation of the amount and date will be given to you at the time of the request
- If an error is made in the payment of your Direct Debit, by the organisation or your bank or building society, you are entitled to a full and immediate refund of the amount paid from your bank or building society.
- If you receive a refund you are not entitled to, you must pay it back when the organisation asks you to
- You can cancel a Direct Debit at any time by simply contacting your bank or building society. Written confirmation may be required. Please also notify the organisation.

I am aware of the schemes in place, but that's not the point I was trying to make.
Its a tit for tat scenario, they don't come running after customers to give them their money, so why should we.
If they write to the OP and ask for them to pay , then fair enough, they've put in the leg work in order to recover what is rightfully theirs. But if they don't I wouldn't be going out of my way to give it to them. They don't.
"What goes around comes around".:D
On a separate note, they have changed the terms and conditions of the fast track upgrade this week, so you can't have a fast track upgrade unless your on a tariff thats £40 a month or higher.0
