I bought one of the sewing machines - £20 - last night in the Tesco Extra on the side of the M32 in Br*st*l there was another left on top of the display, opposite the tills on top of the sewing accessories - not boxed but it might have been put away. There was also one of the smaller ones as well for £14

  • Picked up two of these this morning, thanks OP. Definitely going away for Christmas presents - have no use for a sewing machine myself!

  • After being told on 5 separate occasions that they don't stock them, I just found an ex display in my local but they don't have the box and any of the essential parts e.g. power unit, foot pedal, manual etc!!!! Pretty useless without it, so can anyone who managed to get one of these tell me what the contents are please, so I can get onto the Tesco electrical helpline and see if they have the parts for purchase. If you have the parts number as well, that would be great. I'd really appreciate it. It's already been a bit of a battle, so it's probably best if I have the info before I ring them. Thanks.

To be honest, I doubt you will have much joy in getting parts for this machine, unless you can pick something compatible up second-hand. These machines are mass-produced and Tesco rarely supply parts for their cheaper electricals - if you have problems they generally just offer a refund. A replacement foot pedal for a better quality machine will easily cost £30+, which is worth it for a £200 machine but is a bit daft for a £20 machine.

Personally I'd just keep an eye out for other offers - sewing machines do crop up on sale from time to time, though sadly, not often at this price.
