Basic equipment to work from home

you not need a printer, a laptop and a monitor cable to your tv, thus having your emailed scans on your tv and then typing work on the laptop screen. This will eliminate printing and being lost in Jeramey Kyles Chav tastic show in one.Survey earnings total 2009 £417, 2010 £875, 2011 £5740

I'm sure work could provide me with a laptop, but I already have a PC at home that I could use so I'll stick with that I think. Good suggestion, but the way our lounge is set out, I couldn't see a document on the TV screen well enough to type it out. A small printer is definitely the way to go and I think I'll sort it out next week. Like I said, this is only for emergencies and I'll probably end up working from home maybe 2 or 3 times in the whole year, but it will be a relief to know that if I AM stuck here I can at least do something productive! It will make my boss less stressy too!DMP Mutual Support Thread member 244

Will you only use the printer 2 - 3 times a year? If so, probably best to print a nozzle check each week to stop the print heads dying out
Have you decided on a printer?0 -
ok then get a larger monitor and split screen it so can see both on screen at once.Survey earnings total 2009 £417, 2010 £875, 2011 £5740

I will check out the one mentioned on here, but have also seen an HP one and Epson one that are both reduced from nearly £100 to just £39.99. I do also want to look at multi-function printers though, as if it also had a fax function that might also be useful.
No, I probably wouldn't need to use it that much but I've learned from having a photo printer that you need to run a page through it regularly to keep the heads working and ink flowing!!
I'd imagine that a larger monitor (to do the split screen thing) would cost a lot more than a printer, and I don't really want to have a huge great screen sat on my dining table all the time.DMP Mutual Support Thread member 244

If the £40 Epson is an SX425W then it only has expensive compatibles at the moment, £8 a set
The SX515W is £60 but uses £3:25 a set compatibles, and has a better scanner
From here some have 19ml of ink per cartridge which is almost a third more than some compatibles

This has wi fi and e-mail, though haven't seen it before, nor any compatibles

If wireless is not essential, this is a good offer IMO with it usng compatibles at £3 a set
