I have a card reader in my PC. If I get a brand new card and pluf it into the reader, what sould happen?
I want to put some files on it but can't see it on Windows Explore.
When I got the PC, I took the cover off and the reader wasn't even plugged in! I have plugged it in now. When I plug the card into it, a light comes on for a second or so and that's it.

When you look in MY Computer, you should see the card reader listed under Devices with removable storage. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

Nope...I don't see "devices with removable storage"
A light does come on though when I plug a card in0 -
It sounds like the drivers need to be installed. Do you have a partition on your hard drive with drivers etc.? Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

How big is the card you are trying to read? Ive got a card reader on my Brother printer, but it only reads a maximum of 512mb cards."I'm not even supposed to be here today."0

2Gig. It's a mini SD sitting in an SD adapter0

If you can't see it in My Computer, you won't read/write to any size card. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

Sorry guys, I found it. It was mapped to my non descript "H" drive. The card was also write protected.....I think it's copying now....0
