How do i get an Internet phone number .
OK my brother has an Internet phone number and a UK 028 phone number .
My brother doesnt live in the UK but if I phone him on his 028 ***** number I am billed as a local call (free ) .
how would I go about setting up a number for me .
I want it more for incoming calls than outgoing if that makes any difference

This has the major advantage that you do not need your computer switched on to make or receive calls and it is active 24/7 just like a 'real' telephone.
You just need to consider if this expense is worth the amount of use you would make of it.
Hope this helps.

Basically you would need a small box called an ATA which plugs directly into your ADSL modem/router and a telephone (landline or DECT) plugs into the box.

Ideal if like me, you have cable broadband as you can dump the landline. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -
