Butlins Bognor - Sun Holiday

I have booked my Sun holiday online and am going to Butlins at Bognor - my choice, its where me and my husband met! Hoping I can get an exchange:rotfl: :rotfl:
Previously when I was there, I stayed on a half board basis and the rooms were lovely.
This time its self catering (we now have a one year old) and having just done a quick search on here - I'm now a bit worried about the type of accommodation!
Can anyone that has stayed at Butlins Bognor via the Sun deal put my mind at rest?
Also, this is having to be a real cheap holiday so any money saving tips on places to go etc (could pay with clubcard deals) much appreciated.
Thanks.

Some of the reports I read on here when I searched worried me a bit!0 -
Hi - I live near there although I've never been inside. I believe the swimming complex is really good and I think the accommodation looks OK as well from the outside.
A short walk from Butlins is the nice Hotham Park - free to get in.
There is also a nice big park opposite the seafront, going towards Pagham/Aldwick near the huts. Our kids have spent many a happy hour there.
For your shopping needs, there is a large 24hr Tesco just outside of the town centre in Shripney - about 5 mins drive from you.
On the seafront, there is a Brewer's Fayre pub with a children's indoor play area although I'm not sure if it's suitable for a 1 yr old.
Visit Pagham Harbour for free - either for walking or with your bikes - great views and even better if you like birdwatching! About 10-15 mins drive.
Felpham Leisure Centre is a 5 min walk (with gym etc. if there isn't one at Butlins).
Bognor seafront they sometimes have a French market - check dates & times.
Chichester Town Centre with the Cathedral etc. is much nicer/more interesting than Bognor. They have a good market every Weds & Sat and a farmer's market on Fridays (you need to check the dates for this).
I'm sure you'll have a great time - enjoy your holiday!
KarenI would love to be lazy but can't find the time:exclamati0 -
Sorry - I forgot to mention there is a Lidl & Matalan around the corner from the Shripney Tesco, on the Retail Park there.

It depends on what grade of accommodation you're booked in for. If it's Gold or Silver, it's lovely. Probably the same as you were in last time actually. If it's standard I can't help because I haven't braved it myself!!
I think it's definately worth a call to Butlins. Phone and say you want to know what facilities the accommodations has and drop in that you met there - never know...You might just get an upgrade!! Or get a friend to phone 'without you knowing' to do the same. Make a nice story for their quarterly mag, so they might be generous! Let us know how you get on.
As for money saving tips, there in so much entertainment, you really won't need to spend much at all. If you eat in your apartment it shouldn't cost much more than being at home. Hope you have a lovely time. We go every year after Xmas and love it every time.Live as if your were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever - Mahatma Gandhi0 -
Thanks Karenb and Morlandanks for your suggestions.
I was thinking last night that I might just phone and upgrade - hadnt thought of mentioning we met there - worth a try I suppose!
Will let you know how things go.
Karenb - we went to Chichester market first time round - will definitely go back there again - mind you spent a fortune first time round - we didnt have a little one to take up all our spends!
Thanks again - feeling slightly more positive than this time yesterday!
