I'm a bit confused, i am going back to work after being on IS for 2years,i think am entitled to four weeks housing and council tax benefit and £250 job grant, someone else told me i would be entitled to a back to work credit of £40 per week for a year- is this on top of the back to work grant, as my knowledge was they give you the £250 to keep you going through the first month?
Also i start my new job at 16 hrs a week next week so will be informing IS,Housing ect on Monday,do i have to mention the above or is it done automatically?
Any advice gratefully received! x

Yes you get the job grant.
Yes you get £40 per wek for 52 weeks aswell.
Your job grant and back to work bonus doesn't affect your housing etc. Remember to sort out your working tax credits, and finally good luck with the new job.I made a mistake once, believeing people on the internet were my virtual friends. It won't be a mistake that I make again!0 -

I thought the back to work grant was £100 now not £250(it used to be upto £1000)0

The Job Grant is £100 for single people and couples without children and £250 for lone parents and couples with children.
