i have prepayment meters for both gas and electricity. Its a privately rented house and the landlords choice, so i dont get a say in the matter

EDF are shooting up their already stupidly expensive prices in november so thought i would have a look at switching.

U-Switch dont seem to have an option to switch prepayment to prepayment- so does that mean that i am stuck with EDF?

  • I've just checked the Uswitch site and the option is available to me

Where it says 'How do you pay your bill' - click on the little down arrow button at the end of the oblong box which by default normally says 'Pay on receipt of bill' and when you click on that little arrow, a drop down menu appears. 'Prepayment Meter' is one of the options, just select it.

I would change the meters, rented or not he does not own the meters.
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

    Hi,

As Chris1973 pointed out, you can switch to a different prepayment meter tariff on uSwitch - just type in your postcode as normal, but select 'Prepayment meter' when we ask 'How do you pay your bill?'. When we ask 'Please choose how you would like to pay your bill', it will automatically default to 'Prepayment meter' for you - you need to leave it on this setting. Your results will just show prepayment meter tariffs.

    Hope this helps.
