Madrid Accommodation for long weekend

Don't know what's wrong with me
I book all our holidays DIY, including city breaks. I consult Trip Advisor avidly and this forum and have never made a bad choice. Well except for choosing a holiday to the Azores.....
Anyway getting to the point, I can't make my mind up about accommodation in Madrd. We are staying for a long weekend in early October for three nights. I want to be fairly central, though if the public transport is good I don't mind staying further out. Has to have an ensuite, comfortable bed and not so noisy that we're kept awake all night by party revellers. We are both light sleepers. Budget is £60 to £80 per night. I can pay more, but that would really hurt being a conscientious moneysaver !
Hotel, B&B, apartment I'm not fussy. Does anyone have any recommendations?
Thanks

I can recommend the Senator Grand Via having stayed there with my Mum a couple of years ago... I spent ages deciding where to stay although I knew roughtly the area. Its in the Centro and a lot of things are walkable. I picked from TA always do and never been disppointed. The only negative, it did nt bother us is the hookers on the side street to the LHS as you come out. Avoidable if you want to. The metro from the airport is literally just outside and I believe we ahd a free mini bar with soft drinks and a couple of beers nice touch. Plenty of places for breakfast nearby. Enjoy.. I think the proce will be right. If not look for this location, there is a Tryp hotel jsut down the street which maybe a little cheaper. I have also stayed in a pension, but I booked this whilst I was in Madrid so I could see what I was paying for ... often Pensions are located in big building several floors up.0
