Error message help needed

Hi hope you can help again, I keep getting the following error message.

error message 0x80004003

Other things I have noticed is that the 'shut down or re start' grey square has stopped appearing, and I am having trouble staying connected to the internet ..broadband tiscali.

Any ideas?

Did you try reinstalling windows defender?

what is the full text of the error?

the one that jumps up when I do....start...shutdown.. it has always said shutdown or restart. Now I have to turn the computer off without shutting down first.


albertross..Thanks for the link. I will try to do it now. All the above started after windows updates last night...the computer does it on auto once a week.
