Barclays staff transferring money between my accounts without permission

I refer you to post number 3!Should I take the £50 or pursue further?Target goodwill payment of £50.0 -
I'd say thats as good as your going to get. Someone is in the firing line (and may lose their job) and you'll be £50 in credit. They'll probably be investigating other accounts also.
Unless of course you incurred overdraft charges/etc because of this.0 -
I'd be happy enough with the £50 goodwill. They'd keep my business with that.
Would be very, very cross not to hear the final outcome - it's the reason _why_ it happened that gets me - but I don't think you'll ever get to know that after that letter they've sent.
Well done for complaining.0 -
The bank employee in question phoned me yesterday. She claims it is all a mistake and that she was reviewing the account after 6 weeks as they always do, and noticed that the £20 that was needed to stop the account "being dormant" wasn't there. She said she had forgotten that I had put £20 in there when I opened my account with her. Sounded like bull**** to me.
She also says she left me a voicemail to tell me she had made the transfer which is 100% impossible, as I never miss voicemails and I didnt get one.
She kept apologising but I didnt say anything as I dont believe her and am not going to say "oh thats fine, it was prob a mistake".
Anyway I dont see any benefit in pushing this further, I will just take the goodwill offer and hopefully she wont do it again.0 -
So she noticed the £20 wasn't there and decided to put it there herself without your permission. Sounds like grounds for dismissal to me or at least loss of security access.
But yes I agree with it. Pointless pushing it any further. Take the good will payment.0
