System restore should work
Have you updated any logitech software recently?
You could re-install the file then use revo free to uninstall it, or use ccleaner scan for issues if you have that
http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.html scroll down for the free version download link
http://filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/
You could try here as well

In the end I got a comp expert to sort for me - its a well known problem, you have to load the webcam with up to date drivers from the internet not from the original CD - it causes like a virus which the comp rejects and goes into stop mode, the comp guy went into system and completely removed the files - works fine nowBetter to light a candle than to curse the darkness. :beer:0

Doesn't cause a virus, but Logitech webcam software is notorious for causing problems.
Best to never install from CDs if there's the possibility of downloading an updated version. It's usually also best to install the drivers manually rather than using the installer.
Glad you were sorted, hopefully you didn't spend a lot of money.0
