Student Jobs

This might seem like a really stupid question but how are honest are you when looking for a student job? Most christmas jobs want you to work until Christmas Eve when I will be long gone back home and surely other normal jobs wouldn't be ok with such long holidays to cover?
This seems so naive but how does it work, or how did you work it with your student job?

it depends upon your contract, but i used to work right through when i worked at any job that needed as you'll always need spare money and you will more than likely still get home in time for Christmas even if you work Christmas Eve:T:T  :beer::beer: to the lil one

I'll be honest, i stayed and worked. Didn't have to work xmas eve/boxing day as they got the local staff to take those shifts so i still got some time at home, plus the extra money came in handy! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. I've just taken a weekend job at John Lewis and at Christmas as my uni town is about 2 hours from home I'll either be staying there and coming home for Christmas or driving back up to university to work the weekends and coming home during the week. I'd still be earning more than it would cost me in petrol to drive there.0
