Can anyone reccomend a good mascara?

I had laser eye surgery a couple of weeks ago and can't hide behind my glasses anymore and need to wear some eye makeup.
I do have mascara and stuff laying around at home but thought I would treat myself to some new stuff as who knows how long ago I brought the old ones.
I have very short and pale eye lashes so would need something volumising and lengthening. The only problem being they all look fantastic in the adverts where (a lot of the time) the models also have lash inserts.
It's all really confusing can anyone recommend me a good mascara that won't go clumpy and will actually make me look like I have eyelashes!! I'm not the worlds best at applying makeup so something easy to apply would be great.
Thanks

Clinique high impact mascara, are great. Have long lashes, but a bit sparse.
Other god one is the bodyshop, Theirs are hard to beat,Smile, why not.0 -
my personal favs are blinc mascara (purely because it doesn't budge *at all*), Diorshow blackout, which gives really lovely dramatic lashes and givenchy phenomeneyes, which has a really easy to use applicator and gives gorgeous long, dramatic lashes0

I like Max Factor False Lash Effect mascara for a cheaper brand, it's usually on offer somewhere and it makes my lashes look really long and thick, and doesn't clump them. It's also got 4.5/5 stars from 150 reviews on the Boots website so it's not just me that it works for!
I used to use the Diorshow mascara but personally I found the Max Factor one better, that's just my experience though.DFW by end of June 2016...! LBM June 2011

I like the Max Factor one for normal price stuff and also the Maybelline one in the pink and green tube is OK.
If you really fancy a treat, I tried thisyesterday. It's Benefit They're Real Beyond Mascara. I read about it on here and asked them to try it out on me in John Lewis yesterday. It looked really great. I plan to treat myself, why don't you??

I love and recommend any of the Maybelline mascaras. They seem to last forever, gave lovely results and the brush was great on it. I always go for their Great Lash mascara personally but, I hear their Volum' mascaras are very good too.0

Maybelline - in the bright red tube
Bourjois Clubbing - my fav

I'd say any of the Lancomes if you can afford it, I use Hypnose Precious Sills ( that doesn't sound quite right) which I love.
They all seem to get pretty good reviews on the make up sites I'm going to try Doll Eyes next. They're about £20 ish0 -
I also vote for Max Factor, I have the Masterpiece Max Mascara and I love it. I also use the ELF Mineral infused one occasionally. I have quite short eyelashes, they are black but also me being Asian they are pencil straight and with these mascaras my lashes curl well!0
