Success but still waiting for my PPI refund?!?

After never claiming anything in my life I found the PPI template and wrote to RBS with regard claiming back the PPI I had paid over 10 years on my RBS credit card. I had cancelled it about 6 months ago because the I identified the ppi payment was causing me never to pay of anything.

The process took about 10 weeks but one Saturday morning I opened the post and received an offer of over £4800 I was elated. As there is a balance on my credit card it would be paid against that balance. The letter stated it would be paid with 28 days of receiving the acceptance offer. I didn't read too much into the timescale because I thought being so busy they were covering their backs.

They received my acceptance on 02/09/11 and I have been checking my balance everyday up to 3 times to see if they have credited my balance. After repeated attempts at getting through to the PPI helpline number RBS provided I found out that it sticks to the 28 working day timeline.

My issue with this is since receiving my offer is I have paid my monthly amount based on the current balance and I have received another statement asking for my next monthly payment to be paid by 07/10/11 (This is the 28th working day)

Fortunately before managing to get through to the helpline I rang RBS customer services and explained the issue. They were lovely and to my surprise they have stopped the interst payments for 2 months to cover the period of waiting for the refund.

I would recommend claiming to anyone. It is a timely process but is certainly worthwhile.
