How much will I receive.

Can anybody help me here, I am a single mother age 50 I have one child age 10. I am currently receiving Jobseekers Allowance of £67.50 per week and receive Child Tax Credits of £252.00 per month, and Child Benefit. I own my property outright and have my Council tax paid for.

I would like to know if I work 16 hours a week at the minimum wage, what Working Tax Credit amount would I receive, also I am confused as to whether I will still be in reciept of child tax credit and working tax credits together.

So basically would like to know how much I would get when I find a job.

Hi, You can put the figures into entitledto.com and it will give you a rough idea. You do get WTC and CTC together as they are to cover two separate things in effect and you have to earn a lot more than you are intending to to have the CTC reduced.

You may still be entitled to some Council Tax Benefit.

Even if you were to get zero WTC and no council tax benefit, you cannot be worse off working 16hrs a week on NMW unless you have over £30 a week travel to work expenses.
