Making a totally free/very cheap xmas gift hamper from grabbit finds

  • Last year I covered one of the boxes that they leave by the till in tesco in an offcut of stylish wallpaper to use as a hamper and it looked really good. I used double sided tape to give it a professional finish. I bet you could use wrapping paper for a similar effect, looking seasonal, cute or sophisticated depending on what you chose.
  • The other year I brought some wicker baskets that had a glitch on in Argos but last year I just put everything in a cardboard box and covered it in wrapping paper. I covered the top with clingfilm and then put the hair dryer on it to make sure it was tight and topped it off with a ribbon and bow.

This is a great idea. I was thinking of doing some hampers myself. I thought I saw a teapot for £2 in tesco direct as well but can't find the link now.....

Will be getting some PG tips later and some campbells soup, got jelly and custard so that's a good start :j

Thread about Tpot is HERE but unfortunately its OOS now & was full price instore when I looked - might be worth keeping an eye though?

Would be good as a raffle prize for a school or club with the money going to a charity?

There are loads of bits on the freebies board (no spend & low spend) all year round - I collect them up for xmas hampers and keep them for relatives if they're good or put them in the box for the charity xmas raffle if a bit naff - it works out quite well for us.

I got enough stuff to make up 3 small shoe box sized hampers of smelly stuff for my 2 SILs & mum to give as gifts from the kids last year

I think this year I may put the free green king IPA from the o2 breakfast pack in a hamper for 1 of my relatives too as we don't drink the stuff
