Cheap rubbish policies most of the time. Best avoided unless there is some niche coverage required.

What is the full name? There are many with American in the title. If it is American International Group (AIG), it is one of the biggest in the world. Go to Yahoo finance and do a search for AIG in the stock search field.

Sorry - just saw your last post re: full name. If that is what it is called, it is either a subsidiary of a larger company or one you want to stay away from.

I cannot make recommendations on the board as it is in breach of board rules and I would also be in breach of FSA rules. That aside, no one company comes out top every time when looking at permanent health insurance (PHI). Different occupations, age, deferment period and levels of cover influence who would appear top.

Because of the wide range available, you dont see many internet quote portals offering it. It isnt high profit either and internet sites like to cherry pick. I'm afraid, short of doing a lot of your own research, the best way is to get a local IFA to quote on PHI.
