Could the fact I was born in 1973 have caused this spike you all keep referring to ;)

Apologies this adds nothing to the discussion but it's 5am and I haven't been to bed yet and I want to feel important ;)

A telecoms job today is very similar to a telecoms job in 1980/70/60/50/40/30/20s.

The difference is the back-end but the largest (and most important part) is still cabling. That is and will always remain the hardest part of telecoms even in 'mobile' networks.

Shortage is when there is physically not enough of something to go around. Rationing is where there is plenty/enough supply, but those that control the supply release less than is required by the market.

So I guess you are saying that there was plenty of food etc to go around during the WW2 but old Winnie decided to not bother releasing enough supplies

So you are saying the roles of a telecom engineer were the same in the 1970's as they are now.

    Right, ok.

Just like IT programmers earn just as much today as they did 10 years ago. :wall:

Not much left to say, I can't really argue any further.

I was a telephone engineer from 1966 to 2002 and from 1975 until I retired I was at the same pay grade although the job I did changed considerably. I know that people doing the same job I did are now earning in excess of £30k.

    So lets get this straight.
You've managed to get DIPs on low LTV mortgages.
Not that interesting. Not really news.

In fact, if I was a cynical man, I'd guess you just really really wanted people to know you were expanding your Empire.
    In principle that is.

On a thread about mortgage applications being refused, you missed the critical part where I mentioned that one of the DIP's had been fully authorised.

You may wish to read it as I'm announcing I'm expanding (or trying to) my portfolio, but the reality is, I'm just relaying that in my current experience, lending is still available, albeit maybe because I have a low LTV.

There have been a number of posted in the past questioning why others on here weren't expanding, linking it to putting our money where our mouth is.
    I'm simply doing that.

    LOL, your losing it again.
Look at the thread title "60% of Mortgage Applications Refused"
I'm pretty sure this is the right thread to stay on topic.

At least try and debate something credible

    Sorry Lite.
You'd decided to focus on something so irrelevant to what I was discussing, I assumed you were refering to another thread. lol.

To be honest, I wonder how many people care what you were discussing.

I was discussing the topic of the thread title.
If you in your own words believe that it was "so irrelevant to what I was discussing", then you are openly admiting you were trying to divert things off topic.

    Try to keep up ;)
