Meter Number

Hello,
I recently moved into a flat with Economy 7 Electiricty.
Having contacted the supplier, it seems that I cannot locate the meter anywhere in the flat, or even on any of the other floors.
I have found 1 meter that is economy 7, however it does not much the serial number given by the supplier.
I've asked the landlord with no luck....what can I do next?
Thanks,
Jay

Hmmm - A really strange one
Is this a block of purpose built flats? - If so the meters are often all located with a Service Room to which the caretaker has the key
Is this building one that has been recently converted into several flats? - In which case the meters could be almost anywhere. Ask all your neighbors where theirs are, and the Letting Agent, and the L/lord again.
I can't understand why the L/lord does not know, as he/she would have been responsible for the power bills prior to you moving in if it's a new conversion, or the 'dead' period between you moving in
and the previous tenant moving out if it has been let previously
You don't say how large the flat is, but ECO7 is expensive and you should be budgeting for at least £1200 a year.0 -
Best thing to do is phone up your supplier with the Serial Number off the meter and they can check distribution records (When I used to work for a supplier years ago it used to be something called MPAS)
See what they come back with - Normally if the flats are fairly new or it was a building converted it will have plot numbers or something like Appartment A instead of actual addresses.
Hopefully they can sort it out. Is your Fuseboard inside the flat or a communal cupboard / room?0 -

call the DNO in your area. http://www.nationalgrid.com/uk/Electricity/AboutElectricity/DistributionCompanies/DistributionCompanies.htm
And it is still called MPAS
Hence why I said Ring them with the serial number off the E7 meter they have found........0
