Faulty Canon Printer Help!

Hi. I have a canon I250 printer and it's faulty. Won't print, error message, etc..

So I rang them up, and they said the only way I can get it repaired is to send it to the nearest repair centre. But it's in luton! Which is hours away. So I have to send it. But, they said I have to pay for postage! And it doesn't seem fair. We have paid extra for an extended warranty, and it's being sent back within it's warranty. It's a fault with THEIR printer. So why should I pay for postage?

Any way round this?
I remember when I had a faulty epson printer, it was picked up and replaced the next day from my house!

Thanks

I'd run it past these guys and get the low down on the situation mate. http://www.consumerdirect.gov.uk/
Sounds to me like you are right. I think they are open on saturdays.
Try em mate and stick to your guns.
    Good Luck

Just a thought - is this with Canon - or the shop you bought it from? If it is insurance based, you might be able to reclaim the postage back too. Might be worth studying your documentation.

The warranty is with canon I think.

The postage cost me over £8! They sent me a letter saying that the printer cannot me repaired and have offered me a different model as a replacement.

So I have accepted the offer, but with a letter of complaint about the inconvenience and cost of sending it back, plus the 4 brand new ink cartridges that are now wasted.

I have a feeling that they'll just say, "Write to canon, we're just the repair centre," but it's worth a try, eh?
