e cheques from buyers POV

I won a number of items overnight and have logged in to pay for them all. I have a paypal balance from sales overnight that more than covers my purchases yet one single payment has gone as an echeque.
So, it is random, it appears to not necessarily have anything to do with balances or payment methods. Incidentally the echeque was one of the middle payments made, not the first or the last.
