Natwest Basic Account

Options
Hi, I ve had a natwest basic account for a number of years now due to previous credit problems. I received a letter saying i can only withdraw from certain cash machines which will restrict where i can get my money from. Are there any other basic accounts out there that are better than natwest and how easy is it to transfer??

I think the writing is on the wall for Basic account Link access.

Given the very wide Natwest/RBS group coverage, plus machines at Tesco and big stations, I would say stick with Natwest. Remember you can also withdraw over the counter at Post Offices.

If in spite of that you do not have a convenient ATM, (additionally) open a Basic account with that bank and keep the account topped-up by Faster Payment using the excellent Natwest online banking.

Good point but remember once the sale is complete there will be less RBS/Natwest ATMS available.

  • Also, the amount of places that will give you Cashback in shops is another factor to take into account.
