  • sorry you have had terrible service- and glad that it looks like it will be ok from another company

although i just wanted to say that i know a few people who have ordered there cakes from m&s and not had any problems- so i dont want all brides to be put off by ordering from them

i hope you have a lovely wedding day

  • I know you are prob very busy etc with your wedding, but how about baking your own (you can freeze them) and then decorate them 2 days before the big day? Should save you some money. See if you can get some family or friends to help too:money:.

Agree with Zippy - its dead easy to make and ice your own - I made 120 for my mums 80th and 150 for my Silver Wedding - actually froze them after I iced them with butter icing and they defrosted absolutely fine. Cost far less than buying from anywhere!

unfortunately making them is not an option for me. i work 2 part time jobs, manic with the wedding, looking after my mum, and visiting my grandad in hospital pphheewww

i think i may have 2 options now. waitrose are being very very helpful and a friend of a friend who is a cakemaker has said she will try and help and im calling her tomorrow.

i still think its shocking behaviour from m&s, they have lost my trust and respect, i even got my wedding dress from there!!! if they had called as soon as they knew of the problem which apparently was 04/09! by the 15/09 they had still not contacted me it would of been slightly easier and less stress to arrange an alternative but to leave it so long, and still not contact me, it was me having to do all the checking, you dont need this sort of stress!
  • Don't know who you spoke to in Tescos but I used their cakes and would have been able to order them for collection on a date if I had wanted. In the event they were on offer about 3 weeks beforehand so I just went round a few local stores and routed out the long dated ones (with a sell by beyond my wedding date) and bought them while they were on 2 for £2.00! Very Mse. They were yummy, we mixed Mississippi mud and double choc ones they really looked the part. (Sorry can't figure out how to post picture)

Shocking the way you have been let down by M&S though.

Good Luck for a fab wedding day.
  • This is shocking customer service. Ok if they want to discontinue a product but at least honour the orders already received.
