hi
last week I sold a dvd box set on ebay and sent it second class post as per sale. On my advert is said no returns.
The buyer reports this as damaged and wants his money back. It was sold as used and now I dont know to do.

If the buyer opens a SNAD dispute then they will be told to return it tracked at their expense to get a full refund of their initial payment including p&p.
It's best to ask them to return it give them a refund, that way you cut out the dispute, which counts against you.0 -
Saying No returns is pointless. If you misdescribed or the item was damaged in Transit you will have to refund, better to do it voluntatry and keep the buyer on side than be forced to. Offer them a refund on Return'The More I know about people the Better I like my Dog'

Put it like this, if you recieved an item that was damaged, what would you want to happen next?
As above, refund the buyer upon return of the goods. And if it was damaged it would be nice to refund their return postage also (although you do not have to if you are a private seller)2 angels in heaven :A0 -
Agree with the others. In this situation the buyer is guaranteed by both Paypal and eBay up to 45 days so you need to accept it back before they start a dispute and leave you poor feedback. There are strict laws (never mind eBay rules) about buyers receiving items that are as described - and you described it as used, not damaged - so you can't just palm it off on them.

OP, when the buyer says 'damaged' what do they mean?In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0

What part of that was aggressive? :huh:If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0

Why?
If you are suggesting that every buyer on ebay is crooked then you are obviously using a different ebay to me. All my sub £46 items go 2nd class/ standard parcels or airmail as appropriate and I lose about 1 item in 1000.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. sorry I will explain more.
When he contacted me to let me know they were damaged, I replied within 20 minutes offered a full refund. I said they had gone out in genuine very good condition but things happen. I apologised and said if he returns then I will refund.
He in reply opened a case with ebay. He reported that I had not replied to him at all (all our emails were though ebay). When I replied to the case claim I again offered a full refund. He then became abusive saying that the goods were never in good condition and I was trying to con him. As such he wants me refund his return costs as well.
I told me to take it up with ebay from now on as I dont respond to abuse. His reply was that he would and give me negative feedback.
