Hi
I have recently switched to Orange broadband from virgin and have received a netgear dgn1000 modem and router. I tried to set it up to run wirelessly today but I am having a problem connecting it to my laptop. My laptop is a dell inspiron 1545 running vista. I can connect to the Internet with a wired connection, but every time I try wireless, my laptop tries to acquire ip address and then drops out. I did get it working but after restarting my laptop I have the same problem again. I have managed to connect my iPhone, iPad (although this has now stopped working with the network), my wife's netbook (running xp), my stepsons laptop (running windows 7) and my ps3 and xbox 360 (although I haven't gone back to these two to check they are still working) without the connection dropping out.
All the gadgets are not connected at the same time.
I spoke to Orange for an hour and they blame my network card. However, my desktop, which is a Sony running vista has the same problem.
Please help because it is doing my head in paying both orange and virgin (I still have virgin so that I can still access the Internet on my devices).
Thank you
