I am intrigued why you say this. What assumptions are you making. Implementing yr sticky? OS? techies or average joe? commercial or home? domain or standalone?

In my experience with 100's of PC's passing through the door, this is one of the no brainers - that is if one doesn't follow your gospel as outlined in yr sticky. Not everyone would want to do that.

People defrag usually because they have heard/read/been told that it will make their machine faster or it's something they should just do as part of regular maintenance, if they measure the difference, 99 times out of 100, they will find no improvement afterwards.

Don't understand the relevance of skill level or location.

It was never intended to be a sticky or a gospel
