I managed to get a Nat West basic account.
That comes with no overdraft and a Solo debit card, I had no problems getting one.
I hope your application goes through ok!
If you are turned down again I would advise you to check your credit rating rather than just keep applying for accounts, each time a search is done or you get refused it is logged on your credit score.
Keep posting for support & advice

It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.
  • The Abbey turned us down, I applied to the Co-op and they told me on the phone that it had gone through.
I have to wait for a letter from there asking for copies of things to prove ID.
Until then our son has an empty/unused bank account so the pay will be going into that and he's given us his card so that I can get the money out. He says he can change the PIN when we finaly get an account open.
Life would be so much simpler if we didn't need money and life was a bit like Star Trek, LOL.
  • When I sat down with my husband the other night and filled in the forms we received from CAB, I was shocked at how much we paid out in ordinary bills. It's no wonder we are where we are, and I do feel ashamed, but right now there is not a lot I can do about it except seek help.
