i have been looking for a good quality shower enclosure, i have been told today that twyfords are no longer in business and if i buy their product i might have problems if i ever need spares.
i can find no record of them ceasing trading, does anyone know if this is true? or is it just shower enclosures they have ceased to sell. grateful for any advice please

Twyfords have definitely not gone out of business, the shower enclosure range offers exceptional value for money and currently depending where you buy it from they are offering £50 cash back on orders over £400 in value

thanks for the above.i was told this in a showroom that sold kudos shower enclosures,i asked them if they sold, twyfords, roman or mira enclosures as well, although the salesman didnt try and push me to buy their product,he just said beware of buying twyfords as they have gone out of business and if i bought twyfords it would be old stock and i might have problems obtaining any spares if needed in future! well as much as i liked the kudos infinite i definitely wont be buying from them.thanks for the advice.
just to add. i made it clear to the salesman i was only looking at the moment and was going to another town today to look at a showroom that i know stocks roman, kudos and twyfords.0 -
All three products are actually very well made. Kudos still manufacture in the UK as do Roman. Twyford on the other hand are imported from China. The price differences reflect this but I can honestly say in my opinion the Twyford Hydr8 sliding door has the smoothest action on the market and you can actually feel the quality in your hand.

thanks plumbers shop lee.i was looking at the hydr8 hinge door enclosure or the geo6 think the only difference is the 8mm glass. think i would rather buy from uk rather than chinese import although the twyfords does seem well made.
what is your opinion of lakes enclosures plumber shop lee? thanks again for all your help0 -
Of the two ranges the Hydr8 is the better product not only is the glass thicker but the frame and hinges are more substantial to carry the extra weight. Personally i'm not a huge lakes fan because they use clear shield on the glass which means you have to be careful with regard to what you use to clean it.

thanks plumbers shop lee.kudos according to the salesperson yesterday have some sort of protection built into the glass and not on the surface.will find out more about that when i go to other showrooms.
thanks for all your advice i will stick to looking at roman and kudos0 -
They actually apply a coating to the glass during production that makes the product perfectly smooth glass by its nature has a coarse surface. The lakes brochure explains this better than I can, the downside to the treatment is that you have to be very careful when cleaning as traditional cleaning products can cause the glass to appear misty. Best of luck in your search and enjoy whatever product you choose.

thanks,if kudos is gonna possibly cause me problems cleaning it,you have probably helped me narrow my search down to roman lol.0
