Problem with daughters laptop

Hope some kind person can help!

My daughters laptop isn't loading properly. Have brought it home with me and put in the manufacturers recovery disc.
Now I have a command window but don't know what to do next.

At the top of the window it says the following..
X:\windows\system32\cmd.exe - startnet.cmd

if I were to assume it runs on Windows... then you should have many options to try to repair.

you could at the command line try typing: sfc /scannow
which will run a systems file check

but the problem could be almost anything. More details will be useful!

Have left it alone, it now says
Windows PE has been booted ok....not loading additional drivers from the share.......done!

Forgot to say, problem started when laptop just stopped loading, just gave option to press F2

what do you mean by "isn't loading properly"?
switch it off.
switch it on again (no disc in drive)
what happens?
