Ice Cream van catering

In my eyes if the ice cream van was out going round the streets touting for business their overheads would be even higher with petrol and time etc. From my perspective I am inviting them to come to one location and guaranteed sale of 75 ice creams...what more could they want??!!

...I would pay a little extra for a vintage ice cream van and homemade ice cream...

Still waiting on my quote though....

In fairness you are asking the ice cream van to arrive at a certain time to a certain place to "sell" 75 ice creams
Presumably you woyld like the van to stock everything you want and be clean and the seller tidy and suitably polite to your guests...so you probably do need to pay for the exclusive use of the van

If they were to just tout round the streets theres no guarantee,but it could be that they could sell more than 75 portions of icecream so I guess there is an element of potential lost earnings included in your quote..

It is a lovely idea to have at a wedding...but I think its wrong to automatically assume you will get 75 portions if ice cream for a pound a go..or whatever the going rate is these days.

But how long does it take them to serve 75 ice creams? Unlike photographers, they could potentially do several weddings a day!!!

Thats true...but its a bit like a wedding car...you pay a lot more for that than you would a taxi....however some people do still opt for a posh car rather than your bulk standard taxi from the rank that you pick up on the morning of the wedding....

Hi SkyVicky, I love this idea too! If there's any money left in my wedding budget, that's where it's going :-)

I don't know if you know but the company on your link was featured in one of the wedding mags recently (forget the name, they all start to look alike on the front!) and the van looked super cute!

Hi midlandsfairy, i didn't see them in the mag, but noticed they mentioned it on their website. Probably why I still haven't had a reply then - they must be rushed off their feet!

Seriously though, does anybody else find that wedding related business are so slow in responding??!!
