Ice Cream van catering

Thinking of booking these people (if they are available!) to do ice creams for all the day guests. I am planning a yellow and brown colour theme so was going to ask them to do banana ice cream with chocolate sauce in little tubs for each guest.

I love the idea! I want to do something like that

Although I don't like banana ice cream, n I know quite a few people that don't like banana flavour stuff, I think it's a marmite thing! So might be worth doing vanilla 2. Also I don't think the banana ice cream will be yellow. U may be better off going with a caramel or something, that will be a orangy yellow.
But those are just my musings... Feel free to ignore!:T0 -
Looks brilliant to me!
I love seeing things a bit different and quirky.
I'm sure there's a wide range of ice cream flavours that would still match your theme (e.g. vanilla and chocolate).0 -
Yes ladies think you mght be right abiut the banana, I am probably better to go for vanilla with chocolate sauce and sprinkles!
Will let you know what costs come back. I got a quote from a regular icecream van who caters for weddings and they wanted £275 to cater for 75 guests. That's £3.60 an icecream. I don't mind paying for something a bit different but not nearly £4 just for a 99!!Staring point of debt £23,343:mad:

I am thinking of just buying tubs from my local ice cream manufacturer and doing it myself. I don't understand why they charge you to come out and sell there products!?! When they sell ice creams at the sea side etc they don't charge... They are also guaranteed to get sales at a wedding! Sorry, it's a bit of a bug bear of mine...:T0

I actually like banana ice cream (e.g. Ben and Jerry's Chunky Monkey), but I think you should go on what the majority would want.

Thanks and so sorry Spencer Li!
Good idea on the little pots, might look into that but like the idea of the vintage icecream van with the tunes etc...Staring point of debt £23,343:mad:

Sounds like a great idea, Banana ice-cream is actually my favourite. Our local place does it and I always have it with sprinkles! It's moderately yellowish but more an off cream in colour!0

I was going to do an ice cream cart as a surprise for OH, but then priced it... £450 for 100 guests!!!!!!!!!!!!! He would kill me if I spent that kind of money even though he adores ice cream! So I've changed my mind.

You're not just paying that price for an ice cream though. It's their time, petrol and running costs, so when you think about it, it's a good deal really.Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
