Opposite gender siblings sharing room....

It's utter nonsense and only concerns you if you want extra points on a council list. Years ago my fil was one of 15 i very much doubt they all had there own space. my mum always slept in the same bed as her brother and sister as there was 9 in a 3 bed roomed house. If kids have there own bedrooms then they are very lucky. Don't listen to other peoples rubbish.0

I wouldn't worry too much about it. Our local council see fit to allow my brother and his wife have a bedroom, then let a 13year old, 11 year old and twin 2 year olds share a room, having said that they all are boys so why they complain I don't know, yeah right!!RIP Floyd - 19/04/09. I know i'll see you again my best friend forever.

I live in a 2 bedroom house and my 13yr old dd and 5yr old ds have to share a room. The council know this but I've never had the police or anyone knocking on my door ready to arrest me lol
don't worry it's perfectly legal

Agree with the above it's all very daft. As far as I know it's a way to justify a bigger council property if you have kids of opposite genders in same bedroom. I think from a friend in this situation in the past it was when the children were over 8 years old. Crazy really.I will be rich :rotfl:0

I used to work in the HOusing Dep't of council and policy was that opp sex siblings could share bedroom up to the age of 11 yrs of age - we had to turn down a lot of applications for larger accommodation on the tenant's argument that their children were of an age that they needed separate room.
I know of no current law that makes bedroom sharing unlawful and perhaps the OP's friend meant to suggest that after a certain age social services may have concerned; but again, ss in the council I worked for had no interest unless there were pre-existing issues of concern already on record, or they received a complaint that suggested there was a child abuse issue.Integrity is a dying art!:p0 -
Thanks so much for all the replies.... I must admit when she said it my reply was "bo****ks".... but I thought I'd just check!:rotfl:
My two absolutely adore sharing a room and get quite upset whenever we mention moving and getting their own rooms... so even if we did move, I think they'd still want to share!
Thanks again:D0
