Rant OH being doom and gloom!

Feel like I am going to explode at hubby!
His OT is stopping (which we knew would happen soon) and so is our working tax credits (due to new income levels etc, again anticipated).
Now this month is the last month of everything so have a drop of about £800 - £900 depending on OT. This money has been lovely and yes shamefully wasted.
I had anticipated this and drew up all our outgoings against our income and after everything including food (of which I have really cut back, dropped brand levels etc thanks to picking up tips here) and we have approx £700 spare each month. My OH words were we are really going to be struggling !!!!!! Some months it may be more depending on my cake orders (just started a small business as well as my PT job)
No we have been really really good to ourselves! Tried to explain this to him, and no more doom and gloom! Showed him on paper, to which he looked and said really snide voice you have missed vodaphone! To which I snapped, and said I knew he would play petty negative games and no I hadnt as it had been taken directly from our bank! grrr
And he really wouldnt be affected plenty in the pot for him to spend on average £250 in the pub a month!
He stormed off and now silence between us. I know I shouldnt have snapped but so frustrating, after working things out, looking at where we are wasteful, to get this.
He says it never works out that way, with regards to what is left after bills, which he is right only because we have never tried or really had too!
Thanks for reading, any tips would be appreciated!

Perhaps it's just his nature to be "glass half empty"? If so, he may feel more cheerful after a month or two when it becomes apparent that you *are* actually managing on the reduced income.
It is really annoying when people are overly pessimistic. I am a bit of a worrier myself, which I realise can be a bit irritating to others.
But you've done a really good job balancing your new budget and I'm sure it will be appreciated once the results are... more visible. 0
