Advice on Office software plz

Hi last year I received a laptop from OU preloaded with Star Office as an alternative to Microsoft Office. However all assignments had to be in Office format, and it makes opening any MS Office documents very difficult. I've seen that studentts can receive MS Office for £33 and wondering if its possible to delete Star Office off my laptop and put on MS Office? Is it worth doing this? Im not very good with technology!lol x

I've never used star office but you should be able to uninstall it no problem. (in Windows you need to go to Start> Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs).

But you should also be able to keep Star Office and install MS Office alongside it.

I got MS office student edition from http://www.software4students.co.uk/ for about £35 earlier this year.
