Wearing my Engagement ring on holiday
Comments

Mines been OK, just watch it if you swim in cool water that it doesn't come off, mine wedding band has a tendancy to slide down my finger at the local swimming baths ! Have a great trip!0

I won't be wearing mine on honeymoon (prob going to Asia or Africa), am terrified of damaging/losing it, or being robbed!
See I'm the opposite - I'd be more frightened of leaving it at home in an empty house incase we were burgled while we were away, than I'd be frightened of someone robbing me in person.

Know the feeling, but (when married) I'm wearing my engagement ring first then my wedding ring so I can't wait to get my wedding ring so it feels more secure. At the moment I wouldn't even wear it swimming in the local baths in case it came off.
I don;t wear mine:
Swimming
Doing circuits
Washing the dishes
Washing my hands
Doing *anything* where it might get dirty
Putting on hand cream - I take it off for ten mins to let the cream soak in fully!!!
But then it IS only a month old, so maybe I am still too protective of it...

Echoing the comments on it slipping off...a former work colleague lost quite a lot of weight in the last few weeks before her wedding, and lost both her wedding and engagement rings in the sea on her honeymoon0

I hope not< because that was me!!!!!:rotfl:
I've had mine since June :j and am still very protective of it. I too take it off in the bath and showering and putting handcream on etc.
I went away to Majorca for a week and left it behind. In fact I'm away for a hen weekend this weekend and wasn't sure how to say to H2B that I would prefer to leave it at home (especially with it being a hen weekend), and then he suggested it himself. So I acted all shocked and said 'well if you think that's best :A'.
I miss it when it's not on, and find i'm looking down at an empty hand. However did I manage before.......Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0 -
I started by taking mine off when I was washing my hair etc, as I was terrified if loosing it. I got OH to tell me what to do if that happened, how to shut of the water etc, and now I keep it on all the time! I only take it off when putting on hand cream and when wearing boxing gloves!
It won't get tarnished or anything, but you may have to keep an eye on the fit. At the end o the day OH assured me that if it got lost it is insured, and it is a 'token' of love, so what happens happens. I also know that it is insured for more than he paid for it... So could upgrade! :rotfl: (kidding of course- I would be devastated if I lost it, but as he says, it's only jewellery.):T0 -
I never take mine off, I figured there was more chance of me losing it if it's put somewhere "safe"! Platinum won't tarnish, and only another diamond would have the strength to damage your engagement ring diamond. Keep it on & show it off! Just be careful that it doesn't slip off in the pool.:j Marrying the man of my dreams on our 11 year anniversary - 20th October 2012 :j0

I wear mine all the time apart from when I'm putting hand cream on.
It's been worn abroad a few times and never had a problem in the sea/ocean/sand/pool etc.
If it's not snug though, I would take it off before going into water.Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
Just wear it - it's what it's for, it's not for keeping safe and sound in a box somewhere.
I'd much rather my wife wear her engagement ring and lose it (yes, it's insured, anyway) than be too scared to wear the thing.0 -

Agreed. Its for life and you shouldnt be too worried about wearing it at all. x:heart2: Got Married on 30/4/11 :heart2:
