I have an Acer Aspire 5720 and its just suddenly stopped working 
When i start up the laptop it sounds as if its loading up and the lights are on (power light etc) but it just comes up with a black screen with a little white line in top left hand corner flashing, when i press any key it makes a loud beeping noise.
Does anyone have any idea on what could be wrong, or how i could fix it?

try f8 / f10/ f12 on startup (key combo sometimes differs ) and then the recovery console. also, on bootup there should be an option to access the recovery partition.BLOODBATH IN THE EVENING THEN? :shocked: OR PERHAPS THE AFTERNOON? OR THE MORNING? OH, FORGET THIS MALARKEY!
