Goldfish>Black Horse>Barclaycard>AXA = ARGH!

Hi guys,

Wondered if anyone could offer up some advice. I took out a credit card back in about 2004 with what was then Goldfish. I was told I needed PPI with the card as I was contracting and had no fixed income. They wouldn't provide the card unless I took the insurance policy.

What was a Goldfish card then became a Black Horse card which in turn became a Barclaycard!

I called Barclaycard last night who told me that the PPi policy was provided by AXA (I actually cancelled the PPI policy in 2009 when I came to me senses about what I was paying out) and that should I wish to reclaim the PPi payments from 2004 - 2009 then I should contact AXA direct to deal with this.

I just wondered if anyone has had any experience with AXA? And if it is indeed them I should be contacting about this? It was my understanding that the claim should be made against the company that sold the policy but in this case Goldfish no longer exist and are now Barclaycard.

Any advice greatly appreciated!

I would contact the FOS and ask them what they think, so to get this right first time.
Explain your situation here of all the different companies and maybe they will offer to write to them on your behalf, or you could ask them to do this for you.

It can be rather confusing when so many companies have been involved.

I have a claim in at the moment for an old Goldfish cc from 1996. I wrote to Barclays Customer Relations Dept and they are handling the claim. If you have an old statement send them a copy as proof that you had the card.
