FTB - just wondering - silly offer

I have some knowledge of this area - Leigh-on-Sea is fairly fashionable and expensive compared to nearby areas. You've got more chance of being handcuffed to a ghost than expecting the vendor to accept 250K. Also, there is always going to be a fairly substantial difference in price between terraced and detached so I don't really see how they are comparable.
Why don't you look at nearby Westcliffe? You could get a cracker of a house for 250K there which is much nicer than this. I know it's not as trendy but you're FTB's and not everyone gets their dream house first time around. Just a suggestion. Else why not look at Rayleigh, Rochford if you want something quiet.0 -

OP will be on maternity leave and will therefore have the job open to return to until the end of that leave. Other people who do not have a need for maternity leave could just decide to give up the job, be made redundant etc.
I guess it depends on the specific questions asked by the lender on the mortgage application form.0 -
Seeing as the OP's due in December, I'm sure it'd be pretty obvious to any mortgage lenders now. I can't see anyone ignoring it and not asking what their plans were...
